FONDA
500
Bizarre fun from top popsters with Casio songs about aliens, insects
and computers. Two albums in 2004 with more tracks than some bands
produce in a lifttime - 30 on 'Spectrumatronicalogical Sounds' and
another 15 on the 'ABCDELP'. Have gone down a storm on all their
previous visits to Norwich.
[ABCDELP] "this acid-fried and whimsical
end-of-summer outing valiantly jettisons the humdrum...listen to
it loud with the oil lamps on" - BBC Collective

CHRIS T-T
Solo. Genius suburban folk-like tales that make the mundane seem
magical. With songs about bees on the underground, a hedgehog's
near death experience and Time Team, you know you're onto a winner.

CORTEZ
Since their inception in October 2003 Cortez have been steadily
building a continually growing fan-base through their incendiary
live shows. The Cortez sound, whilst difficult to pin down, references
such diverse artists as Calexico, And You Will Know Us By The Trail
Of Dead, Tindersticks, My Bloody Valentine and Pavement.
Cortez continued to attract rave reviews at their gigs and got
the attention of newly created record label NROne who wished that
the labels first release be the debut Cortez single and in
February 2005 the 'This Is Nowhere' EP was released, showcasing
the bands diversity. The title track to the EP was a Neil Young
and Mogwai influenced epic, but also featured was the fast, intense
and punchy 'Numbers'. All the tracks on the EP were recorded at
the Sickroom studios and were produced by Magoos Owen Turner.Following
that in May 2005 will be second Cortez single 'Ashtray Heart'and
after that towards the end of the summer the debut album, all of
which with Owen Turner in the producers chair again.
"Cortez have a knack for loading their songs
with gut-level impact, a stiff shot of rage, melancholy or tenderness"
- Drowned In Sound

CRUISER CHIMPS
Bowel bleed noise duo, retro space-age outfits (includes helmets
and hot pants), slightly rubbish but riotously cute. AKA Ian and
Lisa from Bearsuit.
HORSES BRAWL
Middle Ages music for young people. Horses Brawl are an exuberant
instrumental trio from East Anglia with roots in medieval and traditional
folk music. They draw influences from English folk, French medieval
and European folk styles and perform with contemporary instrumental
techniques. Their music is rich, highly evocative and performed
with exceptional musicianship. They have been hailed as one of the
brightest young bands around.
Initially coming together for a Creative Arts East tour in rural
Norfolk, they have since performed twice on London's South Bank
at Queen Elizabeth Hall and at The Thames Festival, received airplay
on BBC Radio 3, Resonance FM, KTAO FM (in Northern New Mexico) and
released their Debut Album, 3 track EP, and been on several compilation
albums including, 'We're From Norwich No 1' and the 'NPUC Treasure
Party' released by Metal Queen Projects.

GRAND PRIX '86
Casio-driven rock from Trist (ex Evader).
ALTO 33.3
Two-thirds of Alto 45. They love broken guitars, tape players,
cheap keyboards, distorted basses, omnichords, FX pedals, drum machines,
harmoniums, telephones, record players, vibroslaps, maracas and
all the mid-range audio frequencies.
"no matter what the prevailing music trends
may be, there will always be groups of creative misfits making wondrous
lo-fi indie pop from the comfort of their bedrooms. East Anglia's
Alto 45 are such are band, and their debut album '101101' is such
a record... the mass market's loss is our gain." - joyzine.co.uk
"spiky playground indie-pop at its best" - Play magazine
