SUBTLE

Oakland-based sextet Subtle has been 'home-recording its way to the far side of song'.

They feature an electronic drummer, one kit drummer, electric cello, 3 keyboards, 3 samplers, guitar, wind and the words of Adam 'Doseone' Drucker (cLOUDDEAD) and JEL.

Carrying on Doseone's outer/inner monologue that underlies his previous endeavours, latest tracks boldly follow B-movie dreams and midday terrors of a working-class poet, born of raw raps and the somewhat vacuum times of the last quarter century.

Formed in 2001, they recorded their first album A New White for Lex Records. In 2004 when their tour bus crashed leaving band member Dax Pierson paralysed.

CULPRIT 1

Cardiff electronic guru Culprit 1 (AKA James Hannam) makes orchestrated hip-hop-sampling symphonies.

In 2003 he released his debut on Boobytrap Records. In 2004 and his Aqoon Guud EP (on My Kung Fu) gained support from Zane Lowe and Pete Tong. He's also delivered two official remixes for Mel C's hit Next Best Superstar and The Automatic's top five Monster. He's now getting play from Radio 1, XFM and Classic FM... what more can we say?!

HOOFUS

Norwich boy Hoofus has been making music for a little while. He enjoys performing, and believes that live electronic music can actually be done in an engaging and entertaining manner.

Hoofus has been on split single with The Cold Front and Rory McVicar, both of which were played on Radio 1.

Recent live sets have been on Resonance FM and at the Faster Than Sound festival.
