BIG EYES / THE REBECCAS / HOOFUS / RORY McVICAR / TIGER MCs @ wensum lodge
Big Eyes are from Sheffield, but carry the romance of Paris in their songs. Initially a solo project for founder James Green, who set out to indulge his passion for soundtracks and instrumental music, his experiment progressed to various line-ups and they have recently released their third full-length album 'We Have No Need For Voices When Our Hearts Can Sing' (Pickled Egg Records).
Amber Cowan at Sleazenation said: "Big Eyes make music that's perfect to smudge your mascara to: velvety instrumentals streaked with unfurling string glassandos, droplets of Spanish guitar and the tears of a million broken hearts."
After a lengthy break from performing live, Big Eyes have stripped themselves down to a minimal line-up of just James Green and David Jaycock. This is reportedly the last chance to see them as a duo before they expand again.
Supporting are The Rebeccas, Hoofus, Rory McVicar and Tiger MCs. Doors 8pm. The night is run in association with Black Cat Music, and we're making a small cover charge (£2) to cover Big Eyes’ expenses.
